Business Grant Unlocks Door To New Offices For Digital Firm

A growing digital firm has secured a new headquarters and three new members of staff thanks to funding and support from the Tees Valley Business service launched by Mayor Ben Houchen.

Process Group works with chemical, manufacturing and energy companies big and small to provide digital services such as digitalising documents to increase efficiency.

Founded just three years ago, the company has seen significant growth despite the coronavirus pandemic and has now expanded to a second location on top of its engineering base at Redcar’s Wilton Centre.

Now it has been given support and a £5,000 grant from Tees Valley Business, the one-stop shop for business support in the region established by the Mayor Houchen. This has allowed it to update its IT systems, invest in its new headquarters in Middlesbrough’s Riverside Park and take on three people under Government’s Kickstart scheme.

Funding has also let the company focus on its very first advertising campaign, as it continues to play its part in developing future talent for the sector, inspiring the Tees Valley’s next generation of engineers.

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “Process Group is another example of a brilliant business growing right here, creating jobs and offering services that help our other local companies to succeed. I’m delighted they’ve been given the boost they need by Tees Valley Business so the business can go from strength to strength.

“In the face of coronavirus, it’s more important than ever that firms like Process Group have access to the support and funding they need to recover from the pandemic and help them achieve their potential.

“When I became mayor, I wanted a business support service that was easy for our businesses to use so they could get the funding and support then need without having to jump through loads of hoops, and this is exactly what we created with Tees Valley Business. The service is a one-stop shop that allows firms from across Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool to get the backing they need while focusing on what they do best – running their amazing businesses.”

Process Group’s Managing Director Dean Gallacher said: “We used a part of the grant to update our offices, providing a professional and modern working environment – including a new breakout area. There has been a lot of uncertainly for many businesses this year, and we wanted to ensure our employees have a comfortable office environment.

“This is something we would not have been able to do in the old workspace given the space and resource restrictions. We hope that our small role in this will enable the Tees Valley to be a sustainable place for Manufacturing and Engineering Services for years to come.

“Accessing the funding was easy to do. It has been invaluable to us, as without the additional funding we would not have considered the office move or taking part in the Kickstart scheme.”
