Middlesbrough station's £34million project has already seen an extended platform 2 for intercity rail services, and works are now under way to redevelop the undercroft and new ticket hall, as well as public realm improvements.
The transformational £140million redevelopment of Darlington Station has seen buildings cleared for a new multi-storey car park, gateway station entrance and improvements to Victoria Road. Two new platforms will increase capacity and boost reliability of national and local services.
£12million is being invested to bring back the redundant platform two back into meaningful use, with a new footbridge and lifts. This will improve current capacity and unlock the potential for future increased services.
Upgrades are being made at Billingham to improve access to the station, with the existing footbridge being replaced by one served with lifts, making it step-free.
Work is ongoing to open up western access to Eaglesliffe station, with a new car park being created near Durham Lane Industrial Estate, plus a new footbridge.
