The successful ninth annual Tees Valley Business Summit may now be over but if you missed it, there’s a chance to catch up on all the action, or watch again, thanks to a new online service.
The region’s biggest business event took place virtually this year because of restrictions in place due to the coronavirus pandemic, but that didn’t stop companies getting their messages out.
This year, the summit welcomed around 500 virtual delegates to make connections, watch seminars and visit exhibitions that resulted in more than 2000 exhibitor profile visits and over 130 hours of speed networking.
For anyone who could not make the event, or for those who want to revisit the Summit with the launch of a dedicated website. The website includes videos of all 15 seminars, as well as exhibitor profiles where they can view and download more information on the companies that were there.
More than 100 people logged on to hear about the opportunities available at Teesworks, the newly rebranded South Tees Development Corporation site and UK’s largest industrial zone, while talks on the multibillion-pound clean energy Project Net Zero Teesside and the latest news from Teesside International Airport also attracted large crowds.
Delegates who have not already registered for this year’s summit can do so and catch up with the event by visiting https://events.weareumi.co.uk/tvbs2020/rewind-the-summit/
Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “The figures speak for themselves and it’s plain to see that, even in this virtual format, the Business Summit was as popular as ever. In some cases, seminars even outperformed last year’s physical event!
“In this unprecedented time, in response to the coronavirus pandemic, we have to look at new ways to support our brilliant businesses when they need it most. The situation across the region – and the UK – is changing so quickly, it’s vital they have all of the latest guidance, support information and opportunities to succeed.
“To anyone who couldn’t make the event earlier this week, there’s now no excuse not to discover everything on offer. All the talks, exhibitors and information is now just a click away so our businesses can learn how they can work together, grow and create jobs at this time.”
Paul McEldon, Chair of North East Enterprise Agency, said: “I am delighted to see how very successful the virtual Tees Valley Business Summit has been. The range and diversity of exhibitors meant that all of the hundreds of people who attended were able to increase their networks, and the quantity and quality of the seminars and workshops which took place over the two days was impressive and would have been of huge value.
“Being able to make those opportunities available to an even wider audience online is a huge additional benefit, and I would urge anyone with an interest in starting or growing a business in Tees Valley to take advantage of the wealth of information and ideas they will bring.”
Tees Valley Business Summit was put together in association with the Tees Valley Mayor and Combined Authority, UMi and the North East Enterprise Agency Ltd.
