News > More Than 100 Apprenticeships Up For Grabs In New Year Recruitment Drive
Tees Valley Combined Authority | Published on: 12th January 2022
Young people wanting to kick-start a rewarding career in 2022 can choose from 105 apprenticeship roles that are currently available across the Tees Valley right now.
The host of positions, across a wide range of businesses including famous high street names such as Superdrug and TUI, Government departments and agencies at the Darlington Northern Economic campus and much-loved local companies are now live on TeesValley.Jobs.
The website was launched by Mayor Houchen in March 2021 as a one-stop jobs site to discover new opportunities in the region, and hosts hundreds of adverts across all sectors for some of our biggest firms.
Would-be workers can check out roles such as an apprentice chef at Rockliffe Hall, for £334 per week or an advanced technical apprentice at engine manufacturer Cummins on a salary of £16,000 and many more besides.
Small and medium-sized businesses that need a helping hand to create these roles are also being urged to take advantage of the Tees Valley Mayor and Combined Authority’s Apprenticeship Support Grant of up to £3,000. The grant helped generate 265 new apprentice roles in 2021 alone.
Mayor Houchen said: “It’s a new year and a time when people are naturally making resolutions, thinking about what the future holds and how to move forward. Days after I revealed 80 good-quality opportunities were being advertised at the Darlington Economic Campus, we’ve seen businesses bring more than 100 exciting apprenticeship roles to TeesValley.Jobs.
“These are ideal for young people looking to start on the path to a great career right here in Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool, as I’ve long said that post-16 or post-18 education doesn’t have a one-size-fits-all solution and many may not be thinking about university.
“Whether people have just come out of education or are considering their next steps, this just goes to show the massive scope of careers and how people can stay local but go far.
“Apprenticeships are a fantastic way to earn while you learn, giving people vital work experience in their chosen sector while being able to take home a pay packet. There’s no better time to check out what’s on offer to stay local but go far.”
