Businesses in Tees Valley are being given the opportunity to engage with key executives from Cummins and MPI Offshore to learn more about supply chain opportunities across the engineering sector.

The breakfast event, hosted by Teesside Engineering Network (TEN) in partnership with Tees Valley Business Compass, the local growth hub for Tees Valley Combined Authority, will focus on key supply chain opportunities for local companies.

Cummins, a globally renowned engine manufacturer, and MPI Offshore, the industry’s most experienced partner in delivering offshore wind and marine projects, will both deliver presentations to delegates.

The free event will take place on Friday 24th June starting at 8am at Preston Hall in Stockton and anyone looking to attend must register here places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

This event follows a string of other very successful briefings delivered by the network, including the recent HS2 and Crossrail procurement event that was held back in February attracting over 150 delegates mainly from the Tees Valley patch.

John Leer, Senior Business Investment Manager, Tees Valley Combined Authority Said: “One of the key roles of the Combined Authority is to support local businesses and deliver economic growth in the area.

“We have an extensive pool of businesses in Tees Valley with the appropriate skills, expertise and capabilities to meet the demand of our local supply chain and it is important we encourage events like this to endorse local procurement.”

Steve Pugh, Nortech Group Business Development Manager and one of the members of TEN, Added: “The Teesside Engineering Network was set up to champion the engineering companies of Tees Valley. Supported by Tees Valley Business Compass, these events allow keynote speakers from the likes of Cummins and MPI Offshore to present their vision and brief the local engineering supply chain, helping to make them aware of their business needs, presenting real opportunities“
