As fun as it has been trying to time the perfect moment for some al fresco dining and drinking whilst battling the elements of the Great British Weather! We know that you are probably just as excited as we are that restaurants, bars and cafes are able to open indoors from 17 May.
It’s time to pre-download those menus and book a table at lots of the Tees Valley venues that are getting ready to open their doors once again.

Stable Hearth, Darlington
Winner of England’s Best Pizzeria 2019 & 2018, Stable Hearth in Darlington has been keeping us supplied with deliciously fresh oven baked pizzas to take out throughout lockdown but we can’t wait to get inside this Italian gem again.

The Twisted Peel, Guisborough
If cocktails with a side of cake sounds like the perfect combination, then look no further than The Twisted Peel in Guisborough. Located in a grade II listed building opposite the glorious site of Gisborough Priory, this micro bar specialises in the art of mixology. From classic cocktails to hot drinks and an amazing selection of freshly made cakes, it is the perfect sweet spot to indulge.

The Scruffy Duck, Norton
The Scruffy Duck has hardly had chance to spread its wings since reopening after a major refurbishment in July 2020. The traditional ale house serving good ole British pub grub managed to open its stylish beer garden in April and we can now look forward to getting comfy in its cosy snug and spacious dining area from 17 May.
Bookings for indoor tables are now live and can be made via the website.

Chadwicks Inn, Maltby
Situated in a quiet village between Middlesbrough and Stockton-on-Tees, Chadwicks Inn is the perfect place to treat yourself post-lockdown. A 19th Century public house that is bursting with traditional charm with many of its original features of stone fireplaces and beams still in place. Here you can enjoy locally sourced and beautifully prepared food in warm and friendly surroundings.

The Black Olive, Hartlepool

The Stables Restaurant at Pinchinthorpe Hall
The newly renovated Pinchinthorpe Hall, based between Guisborough and Newton-Under-Roseberry is opening the doors to its adjoining restaurant on the 19 May. Open from Wednesday – Sunday, the restaurant which is set in the old stables and coach house built in 1761 will offer classic British and European cuisine, with fine dining elements.
