Organism is a sculpture by local artist Andrew Mckeown. It was opened officially on Wednesday 7th November 2007 by Councillor George Dunning, Leader of Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council. This latest addition to the Saltburn Top Prom Development Project complements the nearby Fossil Garden. Created in steel with bronze patina, Organism was inspired by microscopic sea organisms called diatoms and is intended to highlight the importance of these organisms in the health of the planet.
