Saltburn Pier is an impressive Victorian iron structure that extends out into the North Sea for 200 metres.
The pier was commissioned by the Saltburn Pier Company in 1867 and opened in May 1869. The only remaining pier in the Tees Valley, Saltburn Pier has endured severe weather fronts and collisions and remains to this day an integral part of Saltburn’s history.
The pier has won the National Piers Society’s 2009 `Pier of the Year` award.
