Stockton Town Centre

Located on the banks of the River Tees with its developing water sports and leisure activities, Stockton’s town centre has a vibrant atmosphere. When walking through the town centre look out for the historic features from the Dodgson’s Fountain to the Doric Column as well as the new art features dotted around the High Street.

The High Street is the home of the region’s biggest street market which has traded here for over 700 years. The market takes place on Wednesday and Saturday with a smaller market on Fridays.

On the north side of the High Street is Wellington Square Shopping Centre with a variety of shops and to the south the well established Castlegate Shopping Centre with its many national retailers.

Independent retail shops in Stockton are a joy to explore and range from ladies and gents fashion, shoes, jewellery, food and meat specialists to model and toy shops. They can be found doted along the high street, in the Castlegate Shopping Centre, Silver Street, Ramsgate, Dovecot Street, along Prince Regent Street and in the renowned Yards.

Cafes and restaurants are a plenty to cater for all tastes providing daytime refreshments through to evening meals.
